Growing, Showing and Spreading the Multi-media marketing wings

Art Loft Sisters is a small group of artsy women looking to expand in the local art world connecting through art endeavors. Sandra Kramer, Inger Hutton, Christine Hansen and Dorrinda Carlson all create in an ever-changing art loft at Harbor Marine above Fisherman's Grill. The Art Gallery in Fisherman's Grill is curated by Art Loft Sisters, where they show their own works as well.

Every month is a new show. We'll start posting all the information and our featured artists. We're so fortunate to know so many and then getting acquainted with new. Some even come out of the woodwork....or the Marine Shop ;). Once folks SEE the gallery it must inspire because more and more folks are "confessing" about what they create. And that's what it's all about. We're not claiming to be professionals - we're people who love to create & see art. AND also want to help others create & show their love. Don't be shy. Let us know what YOU like to do and we'll see if we have gallery space, a workshop to offer or just share with us.

Currently we're so happy to be showing local gal photographers in the Art Gallery: Kendall Lauren Photography and Kelly Matheson, both who have traveled abroad, but love to take local pics, as well. The show is through the end of May, so come on down to Fisherman's Grill for breakfast or lunch...maybe just an espresso or a Whidbey Island icecream! Enjoy the beauty of the beholder - and beauty they have captured - everything from sunsets to what seems to be the mundane: glasses on the counter. It all changes through the eyes of these women.

We also are beginning workshops!!! This one by a true local, right here from Harbor Marine. Michael McDade was in the Men's March Show at Fisherman's Grill with fused glass. Unbeknownst to us, he also does wool/felt work (so excited for this!), a popular art trend to create fiber art paintings or creatures. So come learn how to Dye Wool on May 18th from 10-1pm. Soon enough we'll be creating an art piece with this new skill. $45, RSVP by emailing Dorrinda: dorrinda.carlson@gmail.com

Can't come? Have other art endeavors? Let us know so we can match you to something fun! Email us ideas/suggestions. Participation is what it's all about! AND on that note: we'll be participating more! More online: website, blog & Facebook. We're trying to keep up with the times, but will be old-school too with a beautiful new sandwich board outside Fisherman's Grill. We need to be seen! Of course we can't do it without you: artists, art enthusiasts and those who are looking to grow the marina and art community. Coming soon, more ideas to connect and interweave our circles. Through you we're growing, hence our need to keep everyone updated in multiple places. We're so blessed.
